|Project||Biograd Health and Tourist Centre|
|Location||Biograd na moru-city located in the centre of the Adriatic coast.
The designated location is adjacent to the Special Orthopedic Hospital in northern part of Biograd na Moru, easily accessible from Adriatic Tourist Road. Zadar International Airport is 28 km, while the Zagreb-Split Highway is 22 km away.
The Town of Biograd na Moru is surrounded by national parks (Kornati Islands, Velebit, Paklenica, The Krka Waterfalls, Plitvice Lakes) and nature parks (Telašćica on Dugi Otok and the Vrana Lake). It is a well-known tourist and nautical center in the midpoint of the Adriatic coast, with over a century-long tourist tradition.
|Description||The activity primarily includes the construction of new accommodation capacities that should be offered aside from the beds covered by the Croatian Institute for Health Insurance. This activity also includes the construction of the following facilities: health section, which offers medically supervised therapies depending on the specialization of the centre; wellness section, which offers different treatments oriented toward prevention, i.e. improvement of physical and mental health; recreation section that offers primarily closed and open water-related recreational contents.
The project consists of three phases. First phase relates to the construction of new accommodation capacities and other facilities – has settled ownership. The construction lot can be expanded to 50,000 sq m. Additionally, the Hospital owns a smaller lot with access to the sea (4,200 sq m). Urban development plan has also been made and it includes the construction of health and tourist facilities on that location. Pre-study of the development of health tourism has been made.
Second phase of the project - reconstruction of the hospital and it is supported by all the necessary documents including building permit (conceptual design, main project, location and building permits, and ownership in the whole area of the hospital). A smaller part of the project has already been realized. Third phase encompasses construction of hotels and other facilities and creation of medical and congress tourism.
Public Call for Expression of Interest (non-binding) for the Realization of the Project has been published on September 9, 2016.
